Here is a brief description of how semi-finalists were selected for the “That’s so sweet” category of the McMurray Hatchery Chicken Photo Contest.
All of the pictures received ratings during our open rating period. We took the average rating for each picture and sorted the pictures. From the sorted list we took the top 100 pictures. Our photo contest judges then each choose 40 pictures from those 100 pictures. In the “That’s so sweet” category there were 24 pictures that multiple of the judges selected. We then sorted those 24 pictures according to the ratings and took the top 20 as the semi-finalists.
The five finalists were be chosen based entirely on the results of the ratings being made by the semi-finalist poll.
The winner was chosen based entirely on the results of the ratings made in the finalist poll.
