The 3rd place photo could have come out of my old family album. When I was 3, I played with a rooster we named “Penny” and never had a worry. However, when a dog would come by, Penny would attack it and run it off. Same treatment for strangers coming into our yard. My Mother did not trust Penny so she had my Dad get rid of him. She was strange about a lot of things I found to be nice pets, including wild rabbits and baby song birds that had fallen out of their nests. Those were simple, peaceful times even on the farm. Thanks for the pictures that inspire good memories.

Thanks for sharing these great photo’s. The 3rd place reminds me as a small boy when I would go to my aunt’s farm and spend all day with her chickens. They make such great pets.

Thanks for running the many photo contests. I really enjoy all the pictures of the various fowl and their “pet” people!
